Delhi Daredevils have won the match against Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets with 17 balls remaining. Chasing a low target of 142, Delhi was given flying start by Virender Sehwag. Though Gambhir and Dilshan got out early, Sehwag got going and scored 75 off just 34 balls. Batting first, Rajasthan were in a deep trouble but it was the ICL returnee Abhishek Jhunjhunwala who smashed 53 not out of 45 balls to get them to 141 /6 in 20 overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders won their second match of IPL too as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets. It was again Matthews who played an important role in win but this time with the ball as he took 4 wickets giving just 19 runs in 4 overs. RCB were restricted to 135/7 in 20 overs after tight bowling from the Knight Riders’.

In reply, KKR got at superb start as both Manoj Tiwary and Brad Hodge got their fifites opening the innings. Tiwary was adjudged the man of the match for his 50 of 29 balls. With this win, KKR has made a solid foundation to IPL 2010 table.

Captain Gautam Gambhir played a captain’s knock as Delhi Daredevils defeated the Punjab team by 5 wickets in the match played in Chandigarh. Chasing the target of 143 runs DD made 146-5 in 19.5 overs. Winning the toss, DD getting to bowl got early wickets. Ravi Bopara played a god knock of half-century. Nannes and Maharoof picked 2 wickets each. In reply, Gambhir scored 72 runs whereas Manthas get them to home with 30*.

Kings XI Punjab : 142/9 in 20 overs
Delhi Daredevils :146/5 in 19.5 overs.

Its the 1st match of IPL 2010 – the defending champions Deccan taking on the team at the bottom, Kolkata. Kolkata though has not good records in previous seasons, it has won its first match in both season by a huge margin. They just start the season with a bang and their performance go on depleting. Deccan on other hand seemed consistent in season two in initial matches.

DC vs KKR at Mumbai
12th March, 2010 , Time : 14:30 GMT, 20:00 Indian time
Kolkata will just have an option to choose from 6 overseas players as Kiwis, Aussies and West Indians are busy with their national duty. They may go with Hodge, Langeveldt, Matthews and Owais Shah dropping Mortaza and Mendis. Ajit Agarkar may be dropped.

Deccan has just 4 overseas players available – Gilchrist, Gibbs, Vaas and Symonds among whom only Gibbs is active in cricket. They may even play with less than 4 overseas players – may be the first time by any team in IPL. Indian players include Pragyan Ojha, Laxman, RP Singh and Rohit Sharma.

Previous records in DC vs KKR : Kolkata won both matches in IPL 2008 while Deccan won both in IPL 2009.

IPL starts from 12 March, Friday with the first match between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai. Along with this match, there will be a grand opening ceremony at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The 60-match tournament will officialy start in the opening ceremony featuring the 8 teams as well as a lot of other attractions from world of cricket as well as Entertainment.

Here are the major attractions of the IPL 2010 opening ceremony:

1)Honoring of all 8 teams in the IPL.
2)Performances from Ali Campbell, Bjorn Again, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and pop star Lionel Ritchie with a wide variety of backup dancers.
3)IPL’s save environment will be shown solidarity by captains as they sign the globe made of eco-friendly material.

1)Youtube for free live video  : IPL has partnered with Google to broadcast IPL 2010 Live from its IPL channel Youtube.com/ipl. The long wait is over and it has been confirmed that ITV will be the broadcaster of IPL 2010 in UK. ITV will broadcast all the matches live on ITV4 as well as the website ITV.com and ITV mobile. After the collapse of previous broadcaster Setanta Sports, there was a long suspense for the IPL broadcaster in UK. Apart from ITV, youtube will also broadcast IPL in UK which will be delayed.

This makes the return of cricket in ITV after a gap of 30 years.
