Cricket scorer and statistician Bill Frindall, who was nicknamed the Bearded Wonder for his phenomenal ability to produce facts at the drop of a hat, died today.
Frindall was known to millions of listeners to Radio 4′s Test Match Special programme which he joined in 1966. The late Brian Johnston affectionately dubbed him the Bearded Wonder, which he often shortened to Bearders.
He died following a short illness at the age of 69.
