New Zealand Cricket board has signed contract with their six players who have signed with lucrative IPL. New Zealand Cricketers signed the contract with the board inpite of their Australian tour clashed with IPL.
Indian premier league is scheduled to start in early March next year to accommodate Twenty20 world cup. In that case IPL would clash with New Zealand’s Australian tour considerably. Daniel Vettori, Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram, Jesse Ryder and Kyle Mills are the Kiwi players affected by the clash of matches.
Meanwhile, NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan confirmed that all the players who signed with IPL have signed with NZC. He appreciated the IPL contracted players boldly signed with NZC even though they are losing money. That only proves playing for the country is the pinnacle, he added.
