Much has been written about Sachin Tendulkar's renaissance over the past twelve months, with his
recent ODI double century against South Africa capping this return to form.
It is worth noting however that this impressive spell is no recent thing but has been something witnessed since the beginning of 2007, in which he bounced back following a dismal couple of years in 2005 and 2006 where he scored only 811 runs and only one century.
Since then however, he is approaching almost 3,000 runs in Test cricket:

I have
posted previously on the race between Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Ricky Ponting to be the number 1 by the time the trio all finish their respective careers and whilst Tendulkar may have been slipping at one point, the past couple of years have really put him in the driving seat to make sure he retires as the greatest - possibly of all time.
